Been a While

It's been a while since I have written anything. But there's a lot of things to reinforce.

First off, Ring is finally enforcing multi-factor authentication. It's about time. Seriously, if you provide it enforce it. Help secure the accounts of your customers. Ring and Amazon dropped the ball big time when it came to their security and tried to put fault on the consumer. It's not the consumer's fault, if the options aren't easy to find.

Next data breaches, face it these are becoming the norm. There's been news out there showing CRA had a data breach, Nextmotion. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone's it's now a matter on how you protect yourself and question the people who are in charge to get proof the data is secure and audits are made public, so that you know if there were security holes, they are identified and noted when they were patched.

Finally, companies selling your data. If this shocks your don't. Look, companies are mining you for data to sell to the highest bidder for profit and you allow them. You might not think your data is worth anything, but to companies your data has a high value, anywhere from $500-$1500 pending on the type of data. So put some thought into those forms you fill out and read the fine print carefully.

Until next time.
