USB Thumb Drive Safety

Consider this a scenario.

You are on an international flight, or even a long domestic flight across the country. You have various USB drives in your bag, all stored in the overhead storage bin. You don't pay much attention or you are sleeping on the flight, but someone decides to swap your USB Thumb drives out with one with malicious content. You go and plug in the USB drive without a second thought and within minutes your personal data has been compromised.

Is this possible? You are prob asking yourself right now.. This is very possible. What are some ways you can protect yourself against. Well don't keep USB drives in your laptop bag in the overhead bin.. Label your USB with a unique identifier, something only you would notice. Finally consider disabling any autorun function on your computer.

As sophisticated as internet based attacks are becoming, sometimes the classic methods of attack are the most effective. So protect yourself and don't let yourself be an easy target.
